Semnoz MTB Descent (Annecy)

The Semnoz is a mid-altitude mountain in the Bauges Massif (Haute-Savoie) overlooking Annecy. Its two highest peaks, CrĂȘt de Chatillon (1,699 m) and CrĂȘt de l’Aigle (1,646 m), offer a 360° panoramic view of the surrounding ranges: the Alps, the Jura, and the Massif Central. On clear days, you can even see Mont Blanc!

The name “Semnoz” comes from the Latin “salmon”, due to its fish-like shape.

A mountain resort has been established here, open both in winter and summer.

  • Winter activities include alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and sledding.

  • Summer activities are just as varied: hike to the summit, try summer sledding, runix (non-motorized off-road karting), off-road scooters, or enjoy mountain biking. There is truly something for everyone!

In summer, buses are available to take visitors to the summit.
