Rafting Maneuvers
In rafting, the whole group must paddle together to move the boat through the water. To move the boat in a straight line, participants on the right side and those on the left side must paddle in sync, leaning their bodies forward and backward to generate more power. If you want to move the boat backward, you should lean your body from back to front and perform the same movement with the paddle.
To steer the boat to the left, the people on the right side of the raft need to paddle forward, while those on the left side paddle backward.
The instructor, positioned at the back of the raft, gives the commands for maneuvering. It is therefore important to listen carefully in order to steer the boat effectively.
