In France, we are lucky to have several mountain ranges that allow us to enjoy stunning snowy landscapes… (we really have nothing to envy from Canada or Lapland!). These areas are perfect for experiencing dog sledding. Whether in the Vercors, the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Vosges, or the Jura, the choice of destination is yours.

The Vercors – “Little Lapland”? :  This is certainly the mountain region where dog sledding reigns supreme! The Vercors is even internationally renowned for mushing. Immersed in landscapes reminiscent of the Far North, you can enjoy 50 km of groomed and marked trails. The more adventurous can venture off-trail for an extra thrill.

The Alps : We can’t talk about the Alps without mentioning Chamonix… A true change of scenery, alpine atmosphere, natural landscapes, at the foot of Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest peak at over 4,800 m.

The Jura : The Jura mountains offer a calmer, scenic alternative. With gentle slopes, dense forests, and vast open areas, it’s ideal for beginners or families wanting a peaceful dog sledding experience surrounded by nature.

The Pyrenees : The Pyrenees provide dramatic mountain landscapes and wide trails, perfect for both beginners and more experienced mushers. Snowy peaks, quiet forests, and stunning views make it an excellent region for discovering dog sledding.

The Vosges – “Little Finland”? Near Lac Blanc, an exceptional natural area, you can explore the region by dog sled… or even with a sled pulled by Scandinavian reindeer, how original is that?

The Puy-de-Dôme / Massif de la Sancy / Massif Central : The Massif Central, including Puy-de-Dôme and the Massif de la Sancy, offers gentle slopes and beautiful volcanic landscapes. Ideal for scenic rides, it allows you to enjoy the serenity of winter forests and snowy plains with your dog team.

Annecy Aventure awaits you in the Alps, Savoie, to offer a magical dog sledding experience.
